Elevate Yourself

We live in times of needing to have extensive ‘self-validation’. Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Am I enough? Just little ole’ me? By myself? It’s a pity that we don’t realize the power and greatness sprinkled within our beings. Instead we are bombarded with ‘snap-shots’ of our daily lives; hoping we’d seem interesting or extraordinary to our peers. We seek not only validation but also if we are good enough. But really we are simply seeking love.

Seeking love is a normal want of human-beings.

Everyone wants to receive it. But must we blatantly keep reaching for “likes” or self-worth by our friends? My darlings, you are enough. And the world doesn’t need to deem you interesting, ambitious or fun. Your activities, your material gadgets and your flashy clothes does not make you a better person than anybody else or more interesting. In fact, constantly sharing in this manner becomes tiresome and ridiculous. Instead of being terribly self-aware, try to become self-less.

Give less attention to yourself and more attention to others. Be of service. And you’ll begin to realize the fulfillment and joy you’ll feel. You won’t be focusing so much on ‘me-me-me’ but instead thinking of how you have helped someone along their path. Have you made someone smile today? Have you listened to the story that elderly person has told? Did you give your presence with the family this Sunday as opposed to being preoccupied with the beeps and alerts from your cell-phone? How was that? How did it feel to disconnect for a moment and connect to something much bigger? Could you feel the laughter, the tears, the excitement?

That feeling darlings, is truly being present in the moment. It is living. It is growing. It is learning to truly become a better you! And you ARE loved! When we tap into nature, spend time being of service to others, or simply focus our time on things we love; we not only are useful and developing skill but also we begin to feel gratified. That self-gratification is what we were searching for all along.

So ‘Elevate Yourself’ and remember your value and worth. We each have special talents or skills that once we tap into it we can blossom into our full potentials. Reaching our full potential of course takes time, but that journey is called life. The ups and downs prepare us all for the heightening and the adventure we have yet to experience!

Trust yourself. Practice humility. And break away from the dizzying norm of self-acceptance and know my dear friends, that you already are all you need to be at this moment in time. Look up and into the distance.

Bless-up!

Every Man for Himself

It’s funny how life is; and the paths we take over and over again until we see the trail that we’ve somehow missed before. In life we do not get consistent results and we do not always find things cool to the touch; we are constantly tested so that through our life experiences we will find new truth and re-assuring lessons that will infuse within us abundant joy and eternal gladness.

When you are not free and are riddled with fear, dumbfounded by malevolent words and discouraged by nasty ways; remember that prayers are always powerful. A prayer is not something that needs to be shouted out on the mountain tops or done in some sort of special ritual way. It is, simply, becoming one and having closeness with your creator. Spending time when you feel low or otherwise to just check in and give thanks or ask for guidance. Prayer is a wonderful way to have a personal conversation with the Universe/God. It is by doing this that you are connected to the heavenly truth and comfort and with that truth you become free from the selfish ways of man.

More and more we see our societies being greedy, selfish and spiteful in their words and actions. Instead of uplifting, sharing and loving, we compete, push-away and show off. Since when is it of good character to trample on the dreams of others? Such funny times we live indeed; that we break down and fight against each other instead of being humble and rising together. When they laugh, ridicule you and say they love you but certainly don’t mean it – let them be – don’t listen to their un-kind words – rebuke their slander and fear they try to impose on you and make a decree to do just the opposite; to use your talent and desire for joy; for positive change; for peace; for love; for truth; for glory! For using your treasures in this way is the most fulfilling; the most stimulating to your hearts; and in turn you will be blessed in sound body and mind. J

Be complete; become whole, by plugging in to the beauty of nature, the beauty of the Universal love and joy that only your heavenly creator can activate access to. It is within you, within all of us and prayer is what helps this power to flow. So flow my darlings, and mirror your love and respect for yourself also to your fellow man, we are all on paths, trails and the ultimate journey to truth, understanding, trust and ALL the love you yearn but don’t get enough of on planet earth! J

Bless-up!

Too Polite...

We all know how self-centered people can be, and how much they like everything to be about them, but lets just take a moment and discuss this small issue. Yes; only 5 minutes of your valuable time, if your eyes can run that fast across this screen to gain some insight on this fascinating topic.

Clearly people are raised differently in different parts of the world; some with manners and courtesy and many without. You see, I was taught by my teachers and parents that it is decent to extend courtesies and be gracious with what you have, and make somebody's day a little lighter, a little easier. In other words not being greedy or pushy and allow people instead a moment to shine in the sun. For instance if Rupert and Magdalene are sitting with colouring books and they both want the red crayon, Rupert would offer Magdalene and instead use purple; or something as simple as offering your seat to a lady or an old person when using public transportation. Little things like this certainly show character and build elevated caliber. I've noticed few people doing such things; how lovely they are, and how meek and modest they appear to be. They are true and hidden gems in this polluted world. Humility and Compassion are such great virtues.

I happen to live in Los Angeles, the city of Angels and I do love it very much; creativity and flair to say the least but there are still ugly behaviours that stun me, or perhaps shock me at times, and I worry sometimes if it will become a part of me also. It's quite easy to assimilate and conform, but it isn't that easy for me. Change is said to be a good thing, but in some instances I greatly beg to differ.

There have been numerous amounts of times where people have expressed to me, "Jair, you're too nice!" or "Jair don't be so polite!" or "Jair, if you aren't rude and serve what you're dished out, you'll never make it!" 'Making it'; what they refer to is fame and fortune; two drugs that the majority of those who move and live here are highly addicted to. I am the master of me and I have other plans, my plan is success! What does that mean for me; is simply to enjoy and be well received in my film career, and live a comfortably, happy and stable financial life. A thoughtful, respectable and lovely equal man at my side named 'husband' and a few children in the mix, would be great too! Some argue that with success comes fame and fortune but that is not my ultimate goal. With success I strive to uphold, withhold and shed light on the importance and comfort of our elderly, and aid hopefully in the research towards a cure for the Lupus disease.

Usually at my Improv class, students dash up wanting to perform, and I like to practice at least once to get a feel of it, but tonight my teacher actually picked 4 students specifically to perform. That really bothered me; I thought was it because they were his favourite? Was it because they performed better in his eyes? I understood the rules just as anyone else, my gosh, I could quote them off the top of my head and I never denied or asked silly questions like so many of them usually did!

In Los Angeles it is a constant competition. Everyone is trying to be the next BIG thing and people in the 'business' tend to be very overpowering at times. Whether it be in that they usually barter their services, as in "What do I get in all of this?" Or most times, "Who can I use to get there?" And some times, "I'm going to push my way to the forward!" It is similar to a fight, you have to fight to be heard, fight to be seen, fight to be recognized. Does politeness have a place here? I suppose the obvious answer would be No! But what a shame…what a bloody shame, sure it is wonderful to express yourself and be free to perform on demand, but are we truly wild and mad animals?

I wrote a blog prior entitled 'Little Bo-Beep', and I wrote about feeling like a ballerina spinning in a world of hip-hop, that I'd been so domesticated throughout the years and I wanted to finally be free to express and do what I love. And although I do feel the same about that, I do also believe that it builds more human character and merit to be thoughtful, respectful, patient and grateful as opposed to being greedy, gaudy, pushy and boastful.

You be the judge. How strong is your desire? How will you travel along your path?
