Mother Nature

From the beginning of ancient time, our ancestors and forefathers, or should I say ‘fore-mothers’ knew the importance of the maternal spirit, nurturing that and celebrating the ‘inner-goddess’; there was ‘Nefertiti’ the Egyptian Queen, ‘Mother Mary’ the virgin whom gave birth to the son of God and there was ‘Venus’ inspired by poetry and representing divine love. During those times, women lived in a more tolerant, more celebrative and more of a matriarchal society. 

However, like everything in life, things go full-circle, and after the fall of that triumph, women literally began falling from grace. There was the burning of ’witches’ at the stake, stoning in front of an assembly of people, advertising that a woman’s place was to be at home and only a few decades ago in 1920, American women were allowed to vote. Women were suppressed, humiliated, punished wrongfully and even killed because they proved to be too magnificent, intelligent or pure and loving in their intentions. 

Slowly, women are becoming more and more aware and reminded of their strength. We still live on a patriarchal planet, some countries more so than others, but having the opportunity to be a voice to empower women in whatever capacity towards positive change for equality, balance and respect, is something I think we are all capable to do in different ways.

I believe that we should begin teaching the wonders of what it means to be a woman from the time they are small girls because this is the foundation and structure we build on for a sturdy life. It’s wonderful to embrace all aspects of our being, like sexuality, but a young woman must be reminded that being sexy isn’t just by wearing revealing clothes but quite frankly the opposite, it’s a state of mind, body-language, speech, and actions. Following blindly like sheep, in a society that constantly tricks, objectifies and marginalize on women’s sexuality for their own pleasure isn’t right.  

Empowering women is to forage the light within and educate women so that they no longer be subjected to abuse of any kind, and feeling that they are unworthy and must look in from the outside into a world that will only embrace them should they become slave to Man-made rules (pun intended). Women must know that they have choices. That they bring Life into the world. That they are multi-taskers for a reason. That no matter, what nationality, creed or race, we women,  can do many things, all with brilliant grace! 

Grace

Grace [greys] noun

1. elegance or beauty of form, manner, motion, or action

2. a pleasing or attractive quality or endowment

3. favor or goodwill

Nothing that transpires in your world, my world, this world is a mistake. The masterpiece of our lives, which we don’t have the privilege of seeing is thoroughly orchestrated in turn creating the best concertos! There are highs and plenty of lows, but that makes for a delightful and interesting listen. ‘Grace’ my friends is handling the constant changes in weather; weather that you’re always unprepared for. 

I’ve been battling lately on what inspiring thing I could write as I’ve been weathering some turbulent moments in life this year; and again and again ‘Grace’ was the word that came to mind. ‘Grace’ to accept the things which we have no control over, ‘Grace’ to stand up to injustice, ‘Grace’ to swallow the pride and the pain, ‘Grace’ to not be distracted by the bumps in the road but to keep moving forward with the vision of greatness!

Remember that these sensationally troubling moments are just that; they will cease, melt away and you will have your life back; we can only hope with more heart, strength, wisdom and grace than we ever had before. For although the wickedness of people stirs something in our hearts and sometimes puts us in an unfamiliar dark and foreign place; we must not succumb but instead use that pain to bounce to realms of magnificence! 

Your trials must not keep you down; we must always result in resilience. Revenge sounds like a tasty fruit but it will only bring us harmful energy. To keep healthy inside and out we must be graceful survivors. Life is about learning and is always fair. It may be hard to believe but one storm makes you stronger and another is given to those whose hearts are filled with malice, hurt and ill-intent. Be grateful for your storms darlings, God/The Universe is opening up new doors as we speak! Handling this situation with grace only makes us blossom into a more prepared soul.

Grace

The clock strikes twelve and all of a sudden you’re whisked away from your dreams and placed back into reality; similar to the infamous fairy-tale character ‘Cinderella’. But because your dreams evaporate doesn't mean that it’ll never come true! This is a time when everyone wishes to make change, to start fresh, to become a better person; and most times we fall flat on our face within a couple of days, weeks, or months.

Change doesn't come instantly; it is something that takes practice, hard-work, and determination. And just because it doesn't come easy, doesn't mean that it’s impossible or that you ‘can’t’ do it. ‘Can’t’ should not be a part of your vocabulary; you know the saying, “It is better to love and have love lost than to have never loved at all…” Well similarly you should keep telling yourself, “It is better to try than to never try at all.” Would you feel better staying in a rut, being helpless or hopeless or would you feel better at least trying to make positive change? The answer should be simple, because just shifting your current mind-set to a positive one immediately you begin attracting positive energy and things into your life! J

Grace is fluidity. It is elegantly adapting and moving in an attractive way. We must look to this New Year with grace. Using grace to face whatever comes our way. Life = Adventure. And adventure is always unpredictable and spontaneous! We need to have goodwill and grace when times are nice and when they become sensationally awful. When you dwell in a mindful, loving, and sincere space, divine light and blessings of love, joy and beauty are always sent your way. Therefore nothing is impossible! And change, resolutions or shifting slowly but surely to your esteemed dream, no matter how great is ultimately possible.

Cinderella may only be a story for some; but I know of several modern-day and real Cinderella’s being given the charm, grace and will-power of a budding princess. If things were really meant to be easy, then she would never have to hear the clock strike twelve. She would never have to lose her glass slipper. Everything would have materialized by the touch of a wand and she’d live happily ever after; but even in her story there were ups and downs. Remember darlings that you can guarantee sunshine, comfort and peace after a turbulent storm; it is the law of the Universe. So then, believing that you must have control in all instances in life, will only lead to disaster; as an alternative let no impatience or despair cloud your vision. Be graceful, have faith and your resolutions and dreams will take precedence at the most perfect of times. J
